Munnings colt leads Maryland-bred contingent at 2023 OBS March 2-year-old sale

The 2023 Ocala Breeders’ March Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, held from March 20-22 in Ocala, Fla., saw eight Maryland-breds go through the ring, with six selling.

Maryland-bred steeplechase bonuses offered in Maryland

With the Spring steeplechase season on its way, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association would like to remind owners and breeders of bonuses available for Maryland-breds in the NSA sanctioned steeplechase and timber meetings in Maryland. The 2023 events are My Lady’s Manor, Grand National, Maryland Hunt Cup, and Shawan Downs.

Mavilus upsets Conniver

Thanks to a perfectly-timed ride by Laurel Park’s leading rider, Jaime Rodriguez, Mavilus mowed down her competition late and won the Conniver Stakes for Maryland-bred or Maryland-sired fillies and mares at Laurel Park on Saturday, March 18 in a 25-1 upset.
