Full fields set for Jameela, Ben's Cat at Laurel Park Sunday

Some of the fastest Maryland-bred and Maryland-sired sprinters around will try their luck on the Laurel Park grass on Sunday, July 14 in the $75,000 Jameela Stakes for fillies and mares and the $75,000 Ben’s Cat for older males. Both will be contested at 5 ½ furlongs on the grass.

Rick Abbott to judge 90th MHBA Yearling Show

The Maryland Horse Breeders Association is proud to announce Rick Abbott as the judge of its 90th annual Yearling Show.  Open to all yearlings eligible for Maryland-bred registration, the show will be held on Sunday, July 21 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds’ Horse Show Ring in Timonium.

Play Harder wins Star De Naskra via DQ

Play Harder has a reputation for getting involved in dramatic finishes, and he maintained that reputation in the Star De Naskra Staks Saturday, June 29 at Laurel Park, where he crossed the wire second by a nose, but was elevated to first thanks to a disqualification.
