Maryland-bred 3-year-old filly Bandonarun sold for $330,000 to Bradley Weisbord, on behalf of Everett Dosbon, at the conclusion of the 2023 Wanamaker’s October Sale October 26.

A winner of two of three starts since debuting in August, Bandonarun has quickly risen to prominence following a sharp first-level allowance win on October 6 at Laurel Park.

“I am excited to buy her for the Dobson family. We have not bought many for Everett over the years, but we had some early success buying proven runners that went on to win stakes”, said Weisbord.

Sold by trainer Michael Merryman on behalf of owner, The Orebanks, the daughter of Uncle Lino has improved her Beyer and Ragozin figures with each start and looks primed for stakes company in the near future.

“The Wanamaker’s platform had this filly for offer that had the solid speed figures that I look for,” Weisbord said. “She is a pretty filly, so if she classes up and wins stakes, she will be a great addition to his broodmare band. Everett will decide on a trainer.”

On buying through Wanamaker’s, Weisbord said, “Liza Hendriks [CEO] and her team at Wanamaker’s made the process seamless. Hopefully, they will continue to bring more good product to the marketplace.”

“We are thrilled with the sale of Bandonarun for an impressive $330,000, the second-highest priced horse we have sold,” said Wanamaker’s CEO Liza Hendriks. “This success reflects not only the quality of horses sold by Ann and Michael Merryman but also the adaptability of the industry as we continue to redefine the way we do business. As we move forward, Wanamaker’s is committed to pioneering the future of thoroughbred auctions in the digital age, connecting buyers and sellers from around the country in an innovative and efficient manner. We look forward to more exciting auctions and incredible success stories in the ever-evolving industry.”

In total, 26 horses were sold through the site for a gross total of $397,750.
