Two Maryland-bred or -sired and Virginia-bred or -sired restricted stakes -- the Ben's Cat and Jameela -- are the features on Laurel's Saturday, June 20 card. Both offer purses of $100,000.

Jameela Stakes--Race 7, post time 2:52 p.m.

The six-furlong Jameela for fillies and mares, 3 and up, on the turf has eight entries. The seven Maryland-breds, from the inside post out:

Mopo: Making her stakes debut, the 4-year-old daughter of Great Notion has finished first or second in eight of her nine turf starts, and nine of 11 starts overall. In two starts this year, both five and a half-furlong allowances, she has a win and just missed when second by a head last out.

Conquerthosewecan: Entered for main track only, the 4-year-old filly has won four times, and been on the board in three others, in eight starts at the distance, including a third in last year's Weather Vane Stakes over the track.

Gift of Gab: Racing exclusively over the turf in five years of competition, the 7-year-old stakes-placed mare seeks her first stakes victory. She finished fifth in the Jameela last year, two and a half lengths behind the winner.

Gold Digging Broad: Making her first start in more than a year, and her first start on the turf since October 2024, the 6-year-old earned her lone stakes victory upon a disqualification in the 2023 All Brandy at Laurel. She's posted two bullet works at Laurel since mid-May.

Boujee Bubblez: Since moving to the turf a year ago, the 4-year-old filly has won three times, been third twice and fourth once in seven starts. Attempting stakes company for the first time, she has won once at the distance, but on the main track when breaking her maiden in November 2024.

Malibu Hooch: The 4-year-old stakes-placed daughter of Bourbon Courage made her turf debut in the five and a half-furlong The Very One Stakes in her most recent start at Laurel after more than a year away, beaten a total of five lengths by the winner. She's finished in the top-three in all six of her starts at the distance.

Big Earn: Stakes-placed at 2 in her only stakes appearance, the 5-year-old mare has been busy over the past year and a half, making 16 starts and recording four wins and three placings, mostly on the turf, and most recently in allowance company. She has four wins from eight turf starts, including an impressive showing last out at the six-furlong distance.

Ben's Cat Stakes--Race 9, post time 3:51 p.m.

The Ben's Cat, at six furlongs on the turf for 3 and up, has seven entries. Maryland-sired Pennsylvania-bred Witty (by Great Notion) joins six Maryland-breds, from the inside post out:

Wickeddivine: Entered for main track only, the 4-year-old son of Divining Rod enters off three straight six-furlong allowance victories at Laurel Park and has a career mark of four wins and three placings in 10 starts at the distance.

Brightshininglight: The most lightly-raced runner in the field made his fifth and most recent start, in a Laurel allowance at five and a half furlongs on the turf on June 13, missing by a head. Never off the board, he won his only other turf start, and will be making his stakes debut.

Tidewater: The son 6-year-old son of Outflanker aims for his first stakes win. Racing the majority of his career on the turf, he has placed twice in stakes, counting seconds in the 2024 Ben's Cat to Whenigettoheaven, and the 2023 Maryland Million Turf Sprint to Witty.

Thataway: Facing stakes competition for the first time, the 6-year-old is 2-for-4 at the distance and has been on the board six times in eight starts on the turf but is seeking his first win since a Penn National turf starter race in August 2024. He most recently raced on June 11 at Penn, finishing third after pressing the pace.

Whenigettoheaven: Winner of the last two editions of the Ben's Cat, the 7-year-old son of Street Magician ran third in the King T. Leatherbury Stakes in his last start on April 18. He has the best record of the field in grass races, having won or placed 15 times, six in stakes, in 23 attempts.

Had to Have Him: The 2025 Maryland Million Turf Sprint-winning 5-year-old son of Force the Pass has finished in the top three in 10 of his 15 grass starts, and has two wins at the distance, including last year's Laurel Dash. He's raced exclusively in turf sprint stakes since finishing third in last year's Ben's Cat Stakes.
