Delaware Park-based Beautiful Blome has done very well at her home track. Charles Blanford and Theresa Haupt's Blofeld filly earned her second career stakes victory at home with a determined effort in the $75,000 Ogletown Handicap on Friday, Sept. 11, a race for Delaware-bred or certified fillies and mares.

The Anthony Pecoraro-trained filly broke awkwardly under Paco Lopez and was last out of the gate in the five-horse field. With a clear path along the rail from her 1-post, she moved up and was galloping along in mid pack before drifting back to fourth.

Shifted off her rail position going into the far turn, the chestnut filly took aim at leader Intrepid Mo, who had set pedestrian fractions of :24.52, :48.67 and 1:13.23. With Lopez gunning his filly home, Beautiful Blome gained with every stride while never switching leads, and pulled away to win by three-quarters of a length. She covered the mile and 70 yards in 1:43.82 on a fast main track.

It was Beautiful Blome's fifth win in 11 career starts (with four thirds) at Delaware Park. She recorded her first in stakes company at 2 when taking the 2024 White Clay Creek Stakes, becoming Blanford's first stakes winner as a breeder/owner. Over her 19-start career, she has won in allowance company at Laurel, but more recently has had her best results in starter races, in which she won three times at Delaware Park in the past year. She also counts three stakes-placings during her career: a second in Parx's Main Line at 3, and thirds in Delaware's Small Wonder at 2 and the Obeah this year.

Her two wins and two thirds in four starts this year boosts her career mark to 19-7-2-4, for earnings $329,710.

Beautiful Blome is one of four runners, all winners, produced by the winning After Market mare Best Mom Ever, a granddaughter of Blanford's mentor Bill Fossett's foundation mare No Fat Chicks, by Spring Double. Blofeld's first winner, graded stakes-placed $444,326-earner Crabs N Beer, is out of No Fat Chicks' granddaughter Get'm Up Pronto, a half-sister to Best Mom Ever. Another half-sister, One Fast Chick, is the dam of 2026 stakes winner Shane's Wonder.

Beautiful Blome is a full sister to $288,926-earner and eight-time winner Bestsugardaddyever and current 3-year-old winner Callmeyourmajesty, and a half-sister to $100,290-earner Momma's Lino. After not producing foals in 2024 or 2025 when bred to Uncle Lino and Blofeld, Best Mom Ever delivered a Blofeld filly this past February and was bred back to Blofeld.
