Whereshetoldmetogo fights for victory in New Castle Stakes

Whereshetoldmetogo loves Delaware Park. The Brittany Russell trainee has never been worse than second in seven starts at the Wilmington-area track, four of them stakes. His most recent victory, the $100,000 New Castle Stakes for Delaware-bred or certified runners on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Delaware Park on the Owners’ Day program, was one of his most exciting yet in a career of exciting finishes.

Freshman sire Rainbow Heir gets first winner

 Displaying speed reminiscent of his sire Rainbow Heir, Nerve shot to the front in a five-furlong Gulfstream Park maiden special weight on the turf, set fractions of :21.81 and :44.70, and dug in to get to the wire first, winning by a neck in :56.65, the second-fastest time for a 2-year-old at the distance this year at Gulfstream.

Jaxon Traveler returns home to win Star de Naskra Stakes

West Point Thoroughbreds and Marvin Delfiner’s star Maryland-bred Jaxon Traveler returned to his home state in peak condition after a trip to Saratoga, outrunning his foes down the stretch in the $75,000 Star de Naskra Stakes, for Maryland-bred/Maryland-sired 3-year-olds, to win by three lengths during Pimlico’s Maryland Pride Day program on Saturday, Aug. 21.
