Late breeder's Thoroughbreds in desperate need of homes

Thoroughbreds owned by the late Sue Pearce of Parkton, who died this past June, are urgently in need of homes. Bev Strauss from MidAtlantic Horse Rescue is assisting with networking these horses, as they need to be moved as soon as possible due to the property being put up for an estate sale.

"Who Let the Cows Out?" RRTP event at Pimlico

The Retired Racehorse Training Project (RRTP) has asked ranch horse trainer Dale Simanton to bring his full crew ranch and cattle-trained off-track Thoroughbreds to Baltimore for the RRTP Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium on Oct. 5 and 6. And now they are in need of riders.

Foxie G Foundation Open House

It's been nearly a year since The Foxie G Foundation was established at Summer Wind Farm in Libertytown. The foundation, named in honor of former racehorse and farm retiree Foxie G., provides rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for Thoroughbreds, whether off the track or not.

Timonium meet opens on Friday, Aug. 23

Live racing is back in Maryland when Timonium opens Friday, Aug. 23. And this year's meet, which runs through Labor Day Monday, Sept. 2, has been extended to 10 days (dark on Tuesday, Aug. 27). Post time is 1 p.m.
